Taylor Swift lidera indicações ao VMA 2024; veja outros destaques

A cantora norte-americana Taylor Swift, 34, é destaque entre os indicados ao Video Music Awards (VMA) 2024 ao ser nomeada para 10 categorias da premiação, maior número deste ano. A premiação, que é uma das maiores da indústria da música, ocorre em 10 de setembro deste ano em Nova York, Estados Unidos.

Tendo recém lançado seu 11º álbum de estúdio, intitulado “The Tortured Poets Department”, Taylor Swift concorre às categorias “Artista do Ano”, “Música do Ano” (“Fortnight” feat. Post Malone), “Melhor Direção” (por dirigir o clipe de “Fortnight”), “Melhor Fotografia” (“Fortnight”), “Melhor Edição” (“Fornight”). “Melhor Direção de Arte” (“Fortnight”), “Clipe Pop do Ano” (“Fornight”) e “Vídeo do Ano” (“Fortnight”).

Historicamente, a categoria “Video do Ano” é liderada pela cantora, que já a venceu quatro vezes.

Taylor Swift é seguida em quantidade de nomeações pelo cantor Post Malone, que possui nove indicações. Logo após vem Ariana Grande, Eminem e Sabrina Carpenter com seis cada, Megan Thee Stallion e SZA, com cinco e LISA, Olivia Rodrigo e Teddy Swims, que possuem quatro.

Sabrina Carpenter, dona dos atuais hits “Espresso” e “Please Please Please”, inclusive, é indicada à premiação pela primeira vez. Alguns outros nomes que estreiam no evento são de Teddy Swims, Chapell Roan, Tyla, Benson Boone, Gracie Abrams, Morgan Wallen, NCT Dream e Burna Boy.

O Brasil também foi representado no VMA, com três indicações para a cantora Anitta.

A votação aos indicados é aberta ao público e está disponível no site oficial do prêmio até o dia 30 de agosto. Para a categoria “Artista Revelação” até a data da cerimônia, 10 de setembro. O evento será transmitido ao vivo em mais de 150 países.
